An increasingly worsening condition, climate change is one of the most arduous issues of our time faced by all people regardless of race, language, nationality, etc. From rising sea levels that threaten the existence of thousands of islands to increased temperatures that present a menace to endurable food production, the effects of climate change can be felt regardless of geographical locations and threaten the survival of the human species.
According to the United Nations, 10% of the world's population lived at or below $1.90 a day. This translates to roughly 780 million people at risk of an early death, not including the millions of others who live on a slightly higher amount. Although such numbers seem intimidating, the solution to extreme poverty remains at the world's reach, even if it lies within controversial steps. Promoting the development of such steps is a global responsibility.
The infamous and historical oppression of the female gender remains a challenge in our contemporary society. Although women account for half the world's population, their efforts and contributions to civilization are often underappreciated. Building a just and sustainable world for women will guarantee a long-lasting, peaceful society that understands the importance of fundamental, unalienable rights.
"Today's youth, tomorrow's leaders" has become an increasingly popularized phrase to illustrate the importance of the youth in shaping the society we live in; but are they receiving enough resources (such as access to education, health, employment, and even gender equality) to materialize their full potential? And what solutions can be offered to help them reach the mountaintop? How can tomorrow's leaders be helped?
